I will have to drop between 7-10 pounds in November for a jiu-jitsu tournament (newbie) in Canada (nothing big) that I want to try my skills at. I have never done the cutting weight thing before and looking for any help you can give me.
I’m 5’7 walk around at about 173 lbs (34 years old)
When to start cutting?
How should I cut?
What type/should I eat?
What should I not have/do?
Any Advice
Thanks for your time and hope to see you fight again soon!

If sean doesn't answer soon enough i recommend doing what wrestlers do, work out in sweat suits, sauna, cut down on water.
7-10 pounds isn't bad at all, just need to be careful what you eat going up to when you start to cut because cutting weight isn't the most fun on your stomach or your mind.
I personally would try and cut weight a few times just to check out how much time it takes and what you need to do and what works best. Since everybodys body isn't the same, some things just work better for some.
Good luck |

| first cut out soda. dont eat as many carbs until the day you compete, also eat more protein. better to get down to the weight sooner then later. when you eat make sure its not junk food either. |
